Hawksbill Sea Turtle
Diet
The Hawksbill Sea Turtle feeds on sponges on coral reefs. Their diet consists of 70-95% of sponge. They also feed on algae, little fish, crustaceans and jelly fish too. The hawksbills are prey to large fish, (such as sharks), and humans. They will stay close to shore lines as sponge bearing coral reefs can be found there. They are often referred to as spongivores because of their specialized diet.
